 | In order to use iCLC, your computer must meet the following technical requirements...
Internet Connection
The greater the bandwidth to your computer, the better. ISDN or above is recommended, as dial-up connections (56K, etc.) will take longer time for design uploads and other functions within iCLC.
Internet Browser
Due to better integration with Adobe Acrobat Reader and its handling of PDF files via the Internet, iCLC has been optimized for use with Microsoft's Internet Explorer 5.5 SP2 (or above). If you are using Netscape, you must use version 4.73 (or above), and install special plug-ins to properly handle PDF files in iCLC. Because of these increased technical requirements for using Netscape with iCLC, we strongly recommend that you only use Internet Explorer 5.5 SP2 (or above).
NOTE: Due to the increased technical requirements for using Netscape with iCLC, CLC will only provide technical support for users of Internet Explorer 5.5 SP2 (or above). To download Internet Explorer 5.5 SP2 from the Internet, please go to the following link...
For IE 5.5, http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/download/ie55sp2.htm
If you are using Netscape 4.73, you will need to install a plug-in to properly view PDF files via iCLC.
Please visit the following web site to learn more about using this plug-in...
Your technical support staff can assist you with this set-up if you have questions. If you continue to experience problems with Netscape, it is recommended that you change your browser to Microsoft's Internet Explorer 5.5 SP2 (or above), which works very well with Adobe Acrobat in the iCLC System. Again, CLC is unable to support Netscape users of iCLC.
Artwork Viewer
iCLC uses Adobe PDF files as the standard file format. If you only need to view artwork files in iCLC, you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader version 5.0 or above). You will not need the full version of Adobe Acrobat to view files in iCLC. You will only need the FREE program called Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0. Digital Artwork Design Program
Since iCLC is an electronic medium, licensees are required to submit designs as PDF files through the secured iCLC web site. Most of the industry-standard graphic development programs, including Illustrator, Freehand, and Corel Draw all have functions that allow you to save PDF files from the program. If you are not currently using one of these programs, you will need to upgrade your software to a program that allows you to save files as PDF file types.
The best way to save PDF files for iCLC is using the full version of Adobe Acrobat, which cost $249 on the Adobe web site. This program will allow you to save EPS files from your software program, and then efficiently convert them to PDF files in a few simple steps. Using the full version of Acrobat will allow you to save your PDF files with the best resolution and accuracy in a minimal file size.
The following link within iCLC shows how to correctly save PDF files from many of the common graphic design software programs....
